Victron Energy receives prestigious award
Victron Energy received the 2017 European Battery Management Systems Product Leadership Award. After reviewing suppliers of Energy Storage and Battery Management Systems, Ross Bruton from the global consultant research and analytical company Frost & Sullivan handed Matthijs and Reinout Vader this award last Tuesday during the Victron Distributor Meeting in Munich.

Lessons learned: Thrusters, Lithium and SOC
Recently we’ve been involved in two technical support cases of which we want to share our insights and the lessons learned.
The first is about Battery SOC and especially for systems that include a Color Control GX or Venus GX. We now have a manual explaining the various options.
The second lesson concerns a typical marine topic: bow and/or stern thrusters and their batteries. The conclusion is simple: don’t put thrusters on the house battery, especially don’t do so when using bms protected lithium for the house battery. Click here to read the reasons for that.

Synercom choose Victron Energy for Battca system
It was at a mountain bike race that Tomáš Doležal of Synercom started his renewable energy journey toward owning his own company and utilising Victron Energy products. His aim was to organise and power the race event marquee using renewable energy, which he has achieved now.
For various reasons Synercom decided to develop their own battery storage system. The result, after consulting with would be customers and investors, is the sleek and creatively designed Battca, allied with Victron Energy system components to produce an elegant, reliable, long lasting, integrated battery energy storage system.
CLAFIS Victron Energy solar boat team: Drama in the sun
Once again it’s great to see a Victron sponsored boat and team in the No 1 spot! Last weekend the team of the CLAFIS Victron Energy solar boat returned to the water with their updated 2017 boat Furia III to compete in the Eneco Solar Boat Race NK 2017.

The Eneco ZonnebootRace must be the quietest boat race in the world. This annual event has a number of different classes and one of them is particularly challenging: The Young Solar Challenge, open to 14 – 17 year olds! Everything about this race is an ideal learning opportunity for young people.
