Firmware v1.16 for Lynx Smart BMS NG and Lithium NG batteries improves State of Charge (SoC) synchronisation and fixes an incorrect battery temperature display when cells are at sub-zero temperatures.

This temperature issue was a display error on NG models only and did not affect the battery’s temperature safety controls.

Other key changes include:

• Improved SoC synchronisation:

SoC now synchronises correctly even when charge and discharge currents fluctuate.

• Dynamic ATC/ATD current limits based on battery bank size:

The ATC/ATD error threshold now scales with total battery capacity instead of using a fixed current limit. This mainly affects larger battery banks, where higher currents are now accepted, reducing false errors.

• Extended ATC/ATD error timeout:

The timeout has been increased to 60 seconds, giving chargers and loads more time to regulate current before an error is triggered.

The update is available for download from Victron Professional and the Victron Professional-linked Dropbox folder. It can also be installed remotely via the VRM Portal.
