Click & Design - An intuitive design tool for ESS solar systems

We are excited to introduce Victron Click & Design – an intuitive online tool that helps you build and simulate a 48V solar ESS system step by step. It estimates how your system would perform in real-life conditions using actual solar data from the past year.

A step-by-step guide walks you through seven stages to build your system. You start by locating the system and choosing either a Multi RS or a MultiPlus-II with MPPT as the base. Then you set the AC input, define priority and non-priority loads, design the PV array, and configure the battery specifications. The tool will simulate system performance hour by hour over a full year, showing how these parameters impact the overall performance. Your system is automatically saved, you can come back later to adjust the parameters, or duplicate it to explore and compare different scenarios.

Don’t confuse this with a sizing tool that recommends components. Instead, it gives you the freedom to design a system and see how well it performs. For example, if your design can’t meet the loads, the tool shows how much energy must come from the grid. You can then adjust the input parameters to better match your performance or budget goals.

With Click & Design, you can:

  • Build systems using the Multi RS or MultiPlus-II with split MPPT architecture
  • Simulate single-phase or three-phase setups setups from 3 kVA to 45 kVA
  • Manage priority loads and optional non-priority loads (ESS with grid meter)
  • Define your PV array in detail, including orientation and tilt up to 90°, with the full range of Victron MPPT chargers, including MPPT RS (up to 6 MPPT chargers)
  • Allow and simulate excess PV export to the grid
  • Export a detailed PDF report
  • Save, edit, and duplicate your designs

Coming soon:

We are working on adding support for more features like generator input, Power Assist, battery support for non-priority loads, and more.

We are also working on including 120V systems in a future update.
