Multi RS - now works without a battery with firmware v1.24
We are glad to introduce a new PV Inverter mode in Multi RS firmware v1.24.

The ESS mode can now be set to ‘PV Inverter only (without batteries)’, allowing the system to operate without a battery by feeding all PV surplus directly back to the grid.

This can be done in both single and three phase installations to feed excess solar to the grid or be frequency controlled in off-grid installations.

This feature allows a Multi RS to be installed without a battery, with the option to add one later to provide backup power or enable Dynamic ESS features.

Note that Energy Meter support is not compatible with this mode, and Multi RS cannot be used as a PV Inverter in installations where zero feed-in or Dynamic ESS control is required.

Make sure to use the latest VictronConnect version to enable this feature under Settings > ESS > ESS mode > PV Inverter only (without batteries) on the Multi RS device.

Another useful improvement in this update is that 3-phase systems now stay connected to the grid during firmware updates.
