A new firmware v1.26 with many new features has been released for the EVCS and EVCS NS:
- Added ‚Overload protection’ feature. If the new "Maximum inverter power" option is set in an off-grid system, the EVCS regulates the charging power accordingly up to the point where charging is stopped in order to prevent this value from being exceeded. Charging will resume automatically when the system reduces power consumption. A warning is displayed on the web interface or in Victron Connect when charging power is reduced or charging is interrupted.
If a grid-tied system is present, the EVCS takes the “Input current limit” setting from the inverter, and will monitor the grid consumption in order not to exceed this limit. - Added ‘Allow battery/grid power for auto mode’ feature. When enabled, auto mode will continue to charge at minimum current when there is insufficient excess solar power. Power is supplied from the grid or battery. This feature is useful to reduce the number of auto- charge enable/disable cycles while charging in auto mode.
- Added warning/error/notification codes. These are then displayed in VictronConnect, a GX device and the web interface with a meaningful message.
- Added warning message when internal settings changed.
- All user settings and ‘First-use setup’ are now integrated into VictronConnect (requires a new VictronConnect version that is not publicly available yet).
- Added ‘External lock’ feature for grid operators. If locked by the grid operator, the EVCS will not charge the car.
There are many more improvements and bug fixes. For a detailed and complete list, see the changelog file in the Firmware section here on Victron Professional.
How to update?
This product can be updated in two ways:
- Update remotely over the internet via our VRM Portal. It requires a GX device, such as a Color ControlGX, Venus GX, Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX to be part of the installation.
- Update over the internal web interface (available from v1.22). Open the internal web interface, go to Settings -> Backup&FW -> FW Update. Click the ‘Open’ button and select the '*.evcsup' file. Click the 'Update' button and wait until the update procedure finishes.
