The new GlobalLink 520

A new option in the Victron offering of remote monitoring products, the GlobalLink 520 adds something unique. It comes with a pre-installed and pre-paid (!) sim card, offering 5 years of remote monitoring on our VRM Portal. No need to obtain and configure simcards, its simply buy, install and forget - straight out of the box.

A step forward in our aim to provide the best connectivity options on the market. Its manual and more information is available on our website.

The Skylla-IP65 series of chargers will replace the Skylla-IP44 series. Its the result of various improvements in hardware including a significant improvement in output power.

- Quickly help a customer in case he lost his Bluetooth PIN code as well as his PUK code
- Lookup the VRM Portal ID of a certain serial number
- See when and under what order number we shipped it to you

Installing a High Powered Alternator?

Stefanie Loges tells us what to look out for
Recently we heard how Stefanie fitted Lithium batteries and renewed the electrical system on board her yacht Taku Moe. She soon found that her old alternator wasn’t packing a big enough punch for her new batteries – and wasn’t surprised.
In this blog post Stefanie tells us her experience of installing a high-power alternator.

Refrigerated mobile butcher shop

On the road with Solar and Lithium
Until recently lead acid batteries – half a ton of them – provided the daily energy needed to run the refrigeration plant of a mobile butcher shop selling produce amongst the hilly terrain in the Rioja region of Spain.
Worse still, the sixteen batteries could only be recharged from a 230V power supply at the end of each long day.
What a difference Lithium has made! With a 60% reduction in weight; the addition of solar power, and charging from the alternator, the power installation has gone from ‘worst’ to ‘best’ of all worlds.

How to Install a MultiPlus Inverter/Charger?

Advice from a Marine Electrical Engineer
Peter Kennedy is an experienced Victron Dealer/Installer specialising in Marine applications. His company website PKYS carries a useful guide to installing a MultiPlus Inverter.
In it Peter adds a whole world of information to the Victron Energy MultiPlus installation manual.
We are grateful to him for allowing us to reproduce his advice in a blog post.
