News overview
Facebook contest concluded, Venus v2.57 and improved charger manuals

This week marks the end of the Facebook video contest. Which was a huge success! Lots of views and marketing value - and very cool as well as funny videos. Make sure to watch a few, we for sure enjoyed watching them.

A new Venus OS version is released last week, v2.57. It changes the USB specifications of the Cerbo GX as well as fixes various issues.

The manuals for the Blue Smart IP22, IP65 and IP67 chargers have been completely renewed. Better diagrams, easier to read and also they include detailed descriptions of the recently released new history features and custom charge profiles. Direct links to the new manuals are below.

While discussing documentation, there have been more improvements. All part the ongoing effort to reduce questions asked to you, and ourselves as well. Most notably the manuals for the Cerbo GX, CCGX and Venus GX, all are now available in multiple languages. And, this week, the quick install guides for the BMV have been completely renewed. Rewritten with the same focus: to ensure less mistakes are made during installation and (thus) less questions asked all around.

In case you, or your customers, work with generators - check out our latest addition to the Online training courses - details below.

Lastly, this week adds two "nice to know" blog posts, one about a mountain installation in Georgia, and another about one of the world's most prolific adventurers.

Facebook video contest

Winner announced on Facebook
A competition we announced last month on Facebook invited users to post a video showing their system – what a great response we had! The competition announcement was viewed over 20,000 times and attracted more than 750 comments/entries!
The winner was decided by Facebook users themselves – going to the video with the most ‘likes’.
We’ve really enjoyed watching all the innovative and interesting ways in which Victron users make the most of their power set-ups. And don’t worry, we will be running another one soon!

Make sure to watch the videos in this blog post.

Remote power aids Mountain Rescue in Georgia

Dramatic Mount Kazbeg in Georgia; at 3700 metres there is a disused meteorological station. The building was always known as Meteo, but it has been repurposed in recent years and is now operated as a bunk hotel for climbers.

Formerly they have had to rely on an ageing generator but with reliable power the local cell net provider, Magti, agreed to install an amplifier, as a result of which Mobile network coverage for the area has been much improved.

Rowing around the world alone

Ultimate test of man and machine
Russian national Fedor Konyukhov is an extraordinary man.
Sailor; Hot Air Balloonist; Trekker (Desert and Polar); Dog-sledder; Rafter; Priest; Artist; Author; Skier; Cyclist; 4x4er; Camel Caravaner and Mountaineer – he has set world records in most of those disciplines.

Fedor, at the age of 67 (the world’s oldest solo rower) was further south than any other rowing boat had ever been at 56°40’S – a latitude known as the Furious Fifties – as he rowed the Southern Ocean.
His extraordinary perseverance can only be imagined.
