New in E-Order; the SMS 200 MPPT; Online Training Exams and more...

Victron Energy will be closed on Thursday May 21st for Ascension Day.

 

In the last few months, several new online training courses were produced and made available. Our online training courses are now a great resource that all distributors need to be familiar with. Read more details in the first item below.

Two new products have been added to E-Order, the SHS 200 MPPT v2.7 and v3.0.
 
An update on the coronavirus vs. Victron topic: the situation is still improving. All production facilities are either fully operational and/or running at limited capacity. No more complete lockdowns. There are still various issues, as for example logistics, parts that are hard to source and restrictions by the local governments. As previously announced, this mainly affects the availability of new products such as the Cerbo GX, the SmartShunts and the Inverter RS.

Until now, these issues have not caused major issues in availability of product, and also the forecasts are positive - no major issues and delays. See E-Order for details.

On a lighter note, there is a new video we're pushing to go viral - Lucian Popescu, our Romanian sales manager parked his Tesla on top of a mountain with empty batteries - and recharged it with three 10kVA Quattros in the back of the "Victron Tesla Ambulance".

And there are many more what we call "Nice to know" stories and videos. Including a case study of a system using Discover AES lithium batteries installed by Marc Stevens, one of our ambassadors in the USA.

Online training courses

Whether just beginning your journey with Victron, or have been using Victron equipment for decades there is a reason to check out the new Victron Online Training Courses - available now in the sidebar of Victron Professional.

Available courses include basic training for MultiPlus, MPPTs, CCGX and VRM. All essential for distributors and sales teams to understand the product range, and unique benefits of Victron.

Please recommend your installers to take the Advanced 3 phase and parallel training, which shows a hands-on installation, and pass the exam. Completing this course will save time and money when working with these more complex systems.

For now the primary language for the training and exams is in English. Some videos already have translated subtitles that you can access when watching by selecting the CC menu while playing. Translating all the videos as well as the exams is being worked on, and will be announced when ready.

 

SHS 200 MPPT now in E-Order

The SHS 200 MPPT v2.7 and SHS 200 MPPT v3.0 are now listed in E-Order. See E-Order for stock levels and availability.

Philippine distributor knuckles down for Lockdown

Using ‘Lockdown’ as a gift of time staff at PhilSolar Equipment and Trading’s Mindoro outlet in the Philippines, decided to build a new demonstration board to illustrate the Victron Energy equipment they most frequently supply. The shop looks out onto a yacht club, so a lot of their installations are on board luxury boats.

The world’s first comfortable lifeboat?

Having bought a lifeboat and converted it to a houseboat, Guylee Simmonds and David Schnabel were ready to leave Newhaven on the South Coast of England. At this point most people would head south, but as noted in an earlier report they chose to sail north …to a point 350km north of the arctic circle, in Tromsø, Norway, where they have now arrived safely.

 

Brazilian Solar Boat skims in to Bronze

The Arariboia Solar Boat Team is delighted to have reached 3rd place in the Brazil Solar Challenge, catamaran class – their best performance yet!
They generously attribute this performance, at least in part, to the use of Victron Energy components for their power harvest – centred around the SmartSolar MPPT 100/20-48V
The Brazil Solar Challenge is a competition between solar boats built by students from Brazil’s Universities.
