News overview
New products in E-Order, lots of webinars to participate in and more...

Dutch offices closed for Kingsday on Monday April 27th

Last week we added a new fuse holder to our assortment. A simple and cost-effective fuse holder that accommodates up to 6 mega fuses. And the MultiPlus-II certification for ESS has been completed for both Spain and Denmark.

On the topic of the coronavirus vs. Victron, we have good news: after Malaysia could restart partially last week, now also in India our manufacturing partners are allowed to (slowly) restart production. Really good news.

Meanwhile we still have all regular products in stock in all warehouses, with one exception: the South African warehouse. While the vast majority of products is available in SA, a few main products are not, for example the Quattro 15kVA. We are currently not able to restock due to the lockdown. But be assured that all possible is done to restock as soon as possible. Air and sea shipments are underway and/or already waiting in SA to be moved to the warehouse immediately once allowed.

As explained last week, it will still take a while to build stock of recently introduced products, due to the lockdown-related halts of production. See E-Order for our best estimation on the next availability.

As a last word on the coronavirus, let me repeat that Victron is a financially healthy company, and can handle several serious blows as well as possibly endured recessions. There are no reasons to worry for the long run.

And, let's not forget it's an opportunity too, as some competitors are having shortages and difficulty to supply. You, our distributors, have the opportunity now to help potential customers in need of product by supplying Victron.

More details, news and many webinars, below.

Yours sincerely,

Reinout and Matthijs Vader

3 Phase Energy Storage System in the Algarve

Domestic 3 phase power supply is common in Portugal – but in the experience of Iain Garner of Solar Algarve matching an asymmetrical supply to ever-changing asymmetrical demand often leads to supply failures.
One of his clients had been experiencing power outages almost daily. Their grid power ran a borehole pump, a pool pump, further irrigation pumps plus, the domestic power required for three separate living spaces.

Canadian logging camp goes green

Domestic power for seasonal logging camps is traditionally supplied by a generator, banging along all day. So when Volts Energies were asked if they could provide a silent, worry-free alternative, they rose to the challenge by designing a solar energy trailer which could meet the camp’s power requirement.

Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency trials Salt batteries

The Itaipu Technological Park, which is near the city of Foz do Iguaçu, is a Brazilian research centre for green energy. Together with energy provider Companhia Paranaense de Energia, they have been trialing a domestic Energy Storage System (ESS) using Solar Power and Sodium Nickel Chloride batteries. The research and development project are supported by Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency.

Fiji Van bringing power to the people

Joe Baravi is the sales manager for Solar Fiji. His van is equipped with a fridge, coffee maker, rice cooker and microwave – in short, a mobile kitchen, powered by the Fijian sun. He’s been driving his kitchen around the islands’ village communities to demonstrate what’s possible with solar energy, making breakfast, lunch and tea …chatting to people, and giving iced-cream to the children.
