News overview
MultiPlus inner workings, looking back at METS, CEC approval and World Champions (again!)

We have lots of news and information to share this week: there is a new video where Johannes Boonstra explains how the MultiPlus works. Applying for RMAs has been made more efficient. We look back on a very successful METSTRADE 2019, and the MultiPlus-II has been listed on the Australian CEC.

On the nice to know section, we're very proud to share that Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz, our team of 49er FX sailors, have successfully defended their title of world champions - becoming the first ever team to hold the title twice. And lots of more blogposts and sponsorship stories, read below.

Inside the Victron MultiPlus with Johannes Boonstra

It's some time ago since John Rushworth, one of our blogpost writers wrote about how he used a MultiPlus on an electric sailing yacht – MultiPlus magic: Small generator, big power. He wished that Johannes had done this new video back then – he might not have had to do so much reading to discover how they work!
Here then is that new video with work colleague Johannes Boonstra explaining the MultiPlus and how it works.

METSTRADE 2019 – roundup

The annual METSRADE show which is a state-of-the-art business-to-business exhibition of leisure marine equipment held in Amsterdam is one of the highlights of the Victron year, and an opportunity to show off our latest product releases and innovations.
And a big thank you to everyone who was able to come to visit our stand and we hope you enjoyed getting ‘hands-on’ with all our Marine related products.

Improved RMA process

To facilitate the process of applying for RMAs, part of it has been automated. The changes concern products for which we carry spare parts. Here is a summary of the changes made:

  • The RMA form has a new “Repair Centre” field, which allows you to choose your preferred/closest repair centre. The selection field is automatically (and only) shown in case we carry spare parts for the chosen product.
  • The RMA and email flow have been optimised as well: the repair centre is informed by email immediately after you submit the E-RMA. The same email is sent to you, and contains the delivery instructions in a PDF. These changes remove the step where the Victron Repairs department had to assign the repair centre and instruct everyone involved: saving both time and delays.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email: repairs@victronenergy.com

Pietrosella – the traditional Corsican village of the future?

One man's dream to build an off-grid eco-village in Corsica is being realized as we speak. The idea is to build ten houses nestled discreetly into the hills overlooking Ajaccio bay, together with a community building where all the residents can gather at the end of each day to talk, drink wine, and play cards.
Work on the mini grid which will power the village is already complete by Christian Tartaroli – who is the project manager at Soleco.
