Today we released VE.Bus firmware version v506, together with new versions of VEConfigure, VE.Bus System configurator and VE.Bus Quick Configure.

When to update?

More so than most other Victron products, it is not recommended, nor needed, to keep the firmware in our inverter/chargers up to date. Stable operating inverter/charger systems are best left running.

Here is when to perform a firmware update:

• During commissioning / first install;
• When trouble shooting;
• To add a new feature that is required by the installation.

How to install

WARNING: updating the firmware of (VE.Bus) inverter/chargers is strongly adviced to be carried out by trained personel only. Doing the update will cause all settings to be reset to their default: requiring the product to be reconfigured.

A new version of VictronConnect, that includes this new firmware version is expected for release latest by mid august 2023. To install the update before then, download the required file from Victron Professional and use self-supplied firmware file update method as explained in chapter 9.2 in the VictronConnect manual.
